About
NINJACAT began as an unofficial Windows in-joke — an orange cat in a red bandana, drawn by engineers and printed on stickers. The token is what a community built around it: independently, on Robinhood Chain, in the open.
01Character
An orange cat in a black shinobi outfit and a red bandana, katana across the back.
The design is deliberately plain. It has to survive at sticker size, at avatar size and on a phone screen, and it does — which is most of the reason people still recognise it a decade after it first appeared.
The character is older than this project and it was never ours alone. It circulated inside Microsoft for years as a piece of Windows folk art. What is new is the community that adopted it, put it on a chain and started building around it.
$NINJACAT is that community's token. It runs on Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum L2 (EVM-compatible). The contract address, the declared supply and the public wallets are on the tokenomics page .

02Cultural history
In 2015 a cat riding a fire-breathing unicorn spread through Microsoft as an unofficial emblem of the Windows 10 era.
It turned up on stickers, on shirts and in internal art. It was never an official mascot, and that is precisely what made it beloved: it belonged to the people who worked there rather than to a brand guideline.
In 2016 Raymond Chen recorded where the imagery came from on The Old New Thing, Microsoft's long-running engineering blog. In 2022 Microsoft Developer UK posted the character again, years after its first appearance. Both are linked below so you can read the primary sources instead of taking our word for any of it.

03Intent
To unite a global community through the power of NINJACAT — combining blockchain technology, Microsoft ($MSFT) rewards, gaming, entertainment and real-world products into a sustainable, long-term ecosystem.
Read that as a statement of intent, because that is what it is. It describes what the project is trying to build. It is not a product list, it is not a schedule, and it is not a promise of a return to anybody.
The whitepaper organises the work under four headings. They are the frame for everything else on this site.
Quoted from the whitepaper, summarised in full here .
04Objectives
Five pillars, as the whitepaper states them. What is actually running today is a shorter list.
The live count is kept on the ecosystem page , where every entry is labelled with its real status.
| # | Objective | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Gaming | Games that bring the NINJACAT universe to life and reward players. |
| 02 | $MSFT rewards | Reward mechanisms distributing tokenised Microsoft stock to eligible NINJACAT holders. |
| 03 | DeFi & NinjaSwap | A dedicated swap ecosystem with native routing, bridging and multi-chain expansion. |
| 04 | Entertainment | An animated series, YouTube content and a growing media universe. |
| 05 | Real-world products | Merchandise, collectibles and lifestyle products. |
05Launch origin
The original site kept a section under this name, and what it showed was two mascots standing together: the ninja cat and a ninja shiba.
The plain reading is the useful one. NINJACAT did not launch into an empty room. It launched beside an existing community, and the two characters were presented side by side from the first day — which is why the shiba is still in the artwork.
Not confirmed
The arrangement itself was never published
No terms, no dates and no named agreement appear in the source material, and the audit on 21 September 2026 found nothing further. Nothing beyond the shared launch and the shared artwork is claimed here; when there is something documented to say, it will appear on this page with its source attached.

06Roadmap
Four phases, as the project publishes them. No dates are attached to any of them, and nothing below is a delivery commitment.

08Values
Ninjutsu, here, is a set of working rules rather than a costume. The whitepaper states four.

Values as stated in NINJACAT — The Ninja Economy, Version 1.0, September 2026.
Mission · Core Pillars
Three commitments that define the standard: genuine community value, transparent integrity, and healthy on-chain engagement.

Build a memecoin ecosystem that gives back to investors, partners and hard working communities. Utilise collaborative branding that turns holders into contributors. Build a scalable model that evolves with the ever changing industry and empowers all stakeholders.
Strengthens Ethereum and Robinhood's creative culture and attracts new investors into Web3.

Set a new standard for memecoin integrity by prioritising clear communication, responsible tokenomics, and community-first decision-making. The goal is to show that meme projects can be fun and trustworthy — reducing fear, uncertainty, and bad actors in the space.
Builds investor confidence and elevates the reputation of memecoins across Ethereum.

Encourage healthy on-chain engagement through community events, community challenges, participation rewards, Web2 bridging and utility-light features that increase activity without adding network strain.
Supports Ethereum's ecosystem growth while showcasing how memecoins can contribute value beyond speculation.
